CAREER HISTORY:
1988—Present: The Clayton Engineering Company, St. Louis, Missouri
In his position as a Senior Engineer for Clayton Engineering, Mr. Dabler has responsibility for all facets of project design. He meets with the client to prepare initial concepts for site engineering. Frequently cost estimates are prepared by Mr. Dabler prior to project commitment. He assigns design costs and prepares proposals for client acceptance. Once the project is approved, Mr. Dabler oversees field surveying and the conversion of surveys into a basis for site plan design. Mr. Dabler, in coordination with the client's architect or other professionals, designs the site improvements including grading, sewers, and paving. Mr. Dabler is personally responsible for the preparation of the grading calculations, sewer design calculations, and specifications. The final drafting is supervised by Mr. Dabler with the goal of government agency submittal, revisions, and approval. Mr. Dabler frequently represents the developer at meetings with city officials and agency representatives to present and answer questions regarding the development plans.
Mr. Dabler has been assigned to a wide variety of Civil Engineering projects in the residential, commercial, industrial, and public works sectors. A notable list of recent projects includes: the development of a 200 acre subdivision/golf course in Granite City, Illinois; the design of MSD storm water improvements for a project in Webster Groves, Missouri known as Oaktree Drive; the design of site improvements for a new office building to house the GSA on a seven-acre site in the city of Town and Country, Missouri; the design of site improvements for the Regional Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints located on a 15-acre site in the city of Town and Country, Missouri; the design of site improvements for a 40-acre WalMart-based regional shopping center in south St. Louis County, Missouri; the design of Buckland Road Subdivision in the city of Town and Country, Missouri for 14 homes in the million dollar plus category.
1985—1988: JonesMayer, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri
Following the successful merger of his former firm into an existing A/E organization serving a regional and national clientele, Mr. Dabler served to guide a multi-disciplined engineering group through structural, mechanical and electrical projects as well as continuing to be the managing partner in the civil engineering and land surveying division of the business projects. Responsibilities continued to include design of projects of varying magnitudes. Full engineering studies and designs included: site studies, flood plain studies for many of the sites, grading, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and street designs, hydraulic studies, infrastructure rehabilitation for municipalities and sewer authorities, pump station designs for private and public groups. This position also required, due to the national clients, that Mr. Dabler become registered as a professional engineer in 48 states. Experience was gained in dealing with an extensive number of reviewing agencies and criteria for projects from local to state to national authority requirements.
1979—1985: Dabler Engineering Company, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri
As Owner, Project Engineer, and Survey Coordinator, Mr. Dabler developed and expanded a civil engineering/land surveying practice serving developer clients and various other private and governmental groups. Additional duties included responsibilities to coordinate the activities of the survey crews for all phases of assignments. Clients expanded into the franchise developer markets outside the St. Louis area. Projects from conception to construction completion were under his complete supervision and design.
1976—1979: Lapin-Ellis-Dabler, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri
Following graduation, Mr. Dabler entered full time employment as a Project Engineer designing residential, commercial, and municipal projects including directing land surveying assignments. Project responsibilities included grading, street, sewer, and utility designs, record plat and construction surveying completion. Designs included hydraulic and routing requirements for projects.
